I am a commercial HVACR technician and only trust Fieldpiece products after what happened to me yesterday. I was checking for voltage with my SC640 meter on a pressure switch and had one lead inserted in a wire nut and the other lead at the common connection at the contactor.
What I didn’t realize was that the lead at the contactor had accidentally touched another contact, and created a short between my probe tip. The lead flashed, popped, and after I collected myself I realized my meter lead had melted, but I was perfectly fine.
I would like to personally thank Fieldpiece for creating a quality product and saving me from any potential harm. Your company has earned a loyal supporter. I simply refuse to use any meter that isn’t Fieldpiece. Here’s a picture of my leads as well.
