Continuing a tradition.

At Fieldpiece, we were the first company to develop meters specifically for HVACR professionals, and our commitment to innovation continues with the SC480. This power clamp meter allows you to test state-of-the-art HVACR electrical equipment as well as legacy systems. Whether you’re working on small circuitry in mini-splits or on large commercial units, the SC480 has all the specialty features that you need.

Loaded with features.

This meter measures system power consumption and has a Low Pass Filter (LPF) and True RMS to obtain accurate VFD readings. With an alligator test lead, it also determines phase rotation – and you only need one hand. The tool does it all and does it easily.

VFDs voltage accuracy and capacitance.
The SC480 also allows you to test questionable motor start and run capacitors, helping you determine when a capacitor needs to be replaced. Also swap out your regular lead tips with the super thin Molex tips to get readings on hard-to-reach circuitry.

More features:

  • Works with Job Link App
  • °F and °C
  • Max/Min/Hold
  • High voltage LED and beeper warning
  • Non-contact voltage
  • LED and beeper
  • Continuity LED and beeper
  • Diode test
  • Easy temperature calibration
  • Microamps DC
  • Frequency (Hz) through the clamp
  • Low ohm range for motor windings
  • CATIII 1000V/CATIV 600V
  • 0.01AAC resolution

    • If dISC is displayed, the capacitor is not discharged completely.

  • What is NCV?

    • Use NCV to check for 24VAC from a thermostat or live voltage up to 600VAC. Always test on a known live source before using. A three segment graph and RED LED will display the presence of voltage. The audible beep increases from intermittent to continuous as intensity of field (EF) increases.
