The SC260 Compact Clamp Meter is a great meter for testing HVACR electrical measurements.  It includes True RMS measurements for more accurate readings, along with temperature in both Fahrenheit and Celsius.  The SC260 also features a backlight display for reading measurements in poorly lit places, and a sturdy swivel magnet for hands free measurements.

The SC260 helps you save time with the new Auto Select mode.  Simply set the dial and connect your leads, the clamp meter will automatically select the appropriate measurement depending on what it detects.  While the high temperature resistance allows you to move from a cold freezer to a hot rooftop and get accurate temperature measurements that lesser thermometers cannot measure properly.

  • Does it have a fuse I can change?

    • No, the new meters do not use a fuse anymore. They use a PTC as it is faster and safer for the technician.

  • What does diSC mean?

    • If dISC is displayed, the capacitor is not discharged completely.

  • Can I use the min max to determine my inrush current?

    • No, the min/max button is not the same as inrush as it does not capture readings fast enough.

  • What is NCV?

    • Use NCV to check for 24VAC from a thermostat or live voltage up to 600VAC. Always test on a known live source before using. A three segment graph and RED LED will display the presence of voltage. The audible beep increases from intermittent to continuous as intensity of field (EF) increases.
