Simplicity Redefined

A new, high contrast 5.5” touchscreen display makes it easy to view measurements, whether your jobsite is a dimly lit basement or bright rooftop. You can also save customer data with dedicated fields for client information. If you require advanced diagnoses, a live trend report is available with O2, CO and CO2 readings.

Reliable Performance

Along with a four-year sensor warranty, the CAT85 HVAC combustion analyzer also features patent-pending SensorVault™ technology that extends sensor life by sealing the sensors from oxygen in the air during storage. If they need to be swapped out, they are field-replaceable to maximize uptime.

Rugged Construction

Durable construction and rubberized casing make the CAT85 tough enough to tackle any jobsite conditions. The magnetic back also lets you work hands-free and the padded hardline carrying case has multiple inserts for accessories.

Jobsite Documentation

Connect to Job Link® System App to view trends, draft pressure and customer details, all with 1000’ wireless range. A wireless printer is also available for jobsites that require documentation printouts.

  • What are the combustion measurements available with the CAT45/CAT85?

    • The Combustion Screen shows up to 8 different simultaneous readings and can be customized to your liking. The CAT45/CAT85 shows the following readings: Stack temp, O2, CO, CO air free, CO2, flue draft, excess air, efficiency, dew point, and flue gas heat loss (qA). To customize the display select [SETTINGS], scroll to “Combustion Setup”, select [EDIT], and then select and place parameters however is preferred.

  • Is it possible to start the CAT45/CAT85 combustion analyzer in the Combustion Analysis screen?

    • Yes, the combustion analyzer can start in the fuel type selection, combustion analysis, or job setup . To start in the Combustion Analysis screen, select [SETTINGS], scroll to [STARTUP SCREEN], press [JOB MENU] to advance to Combustion, press the [JOB MENU] to return to Main Screen. The Analyzer will now start up in the Combustion Analysis screen upon the next power-on.

  • Why is there no water trap with the CAT85?

    • The CAT85 automatically separates and returns water to the flue using the patent-pending HydroCycle™ Pump technology, providing a care-free water collection system.

  • How long do the CAT45/CAT85 sensors last?

    • Our SensorVault™ technology extends sensor life by sealing the sensors from oxygen in the air during storage. The field replaceable sensors are warrantied for four years meaning maximum uptime on the job site.

  • Why does the CAT45/CAT85 sometimes turn on by itself when plugging it into power?

    • Our SensorVault™ technology extends sensor life by sealing the sensors from oxygen in the air. during storage. If the combustion analyzer is powered off improperly (for example, the battery runs out while powered on) it is possible for the sensor seal to become out of sync with the power-on state. When plugging into a power source the combustion analyzer will check to make sure the sensor sealing is correctly synced with the button, if the analyzer detects the sensor is out of sync the analyzer will automatically power on.

  • How do I ensure the CO reading is maximized for CO Air Free on the CAT45 and CAT85?

    • Fieldpiece Combustion Analyzers (CAT45, CAT85) that have firmware version v1.1 and earlier do not default the CO AIR FREE value to the highest reading, which is also known as [COAF], [CO Undiluted], or [CO at 0% O2 Reference].

To ensure the CO AIR FREE reading is correct, the user should go to Settings and change the O2 Reference from the default number of 6% to 0% [zero oxygen].  This change accurately displays the CO AIR FREE value to comply with BPI-1200 and AHRI 1260 Standards.

Details can be found in this technical bulletin.
