ANAHEIM, Calif., May 12, 2014 – Fieldpiece Instruments, the industry leader in tools and test instruments for HVACR professionals, introduces three new series of clamp meters that deliver a comprehensive range of test and measurement data, and include many features that Fieldpiece customers have come to expect. The new line is broken into three sizes: Compact (SC200 series) which are small enough for your back pocket, Essential (SC400 series) which has just the right amount of features in a convenient sized package, and Loaded (SC600 series) which is a beefy meter packed with added features. These all-new clamp meters will be available at distributors in the middle of May.
Fieldpiece has focused on providing HVACR professionals with the most up-to-date tools and test instruments since it was founded over 25 years ago. As technology has become a seamless part of the techs’ work life, Fieldpiece has listened to what techs need and want. They create and upgrade tools, like this new clamp series, to empower the techs to do their jobs easily and effectively.
Previous models, except for the Wireless SC57 (already UL 3rd Edition certified), will be phased out and replaced with the new meters. The new clamp meters are all UL 3rd Edition certified.
The new clamp meters feature extreme temperature resistance, rugged plastic casing, and a wire-grapping jaw that makes it easy to separate and capture a wire from a tight bundle. All models read specific measurements that HVACR professionals need such as VAC, VDC, AAC, Resistance, Continuity, Diode, as well as other measurements like temperature and capacitance in some models. Some also have True RMS and Inrush Current feature.
The value-driven, compact SC200 series includes the SC220, SC240, and SC260 and are designed to provide the ultimate in convenience and affordability. Their compact pocket-size design makes them easy to take on any job.

The essential SC400 series includes the SC420 and SC440 that provide fundamental HVACR functions at an affordable cost. The dual LCD display allows the tech to see both voltage and amperage readings at the same time. The SC400 series clamp meters, like the other new Fieldpiece meters, are built to withstand the rigors of HVACR with high impact plastic and a display you can read in hot or cold environments. The tech can move from a cold freezer to a hot rooftop and get accurate temperature measurements that lesser thermometers cannot measure properly.

The feature-rich SC600 series includes the SC620 and SC640, swivel-head clamp meters that have probe storage and magnetic hangers as well as including tests and measurements that are important to the true HVACR professional. The SC600 series are the new, loaded clamp meters for the HVACR professional. Fieldpiece redesigned the heavy-duty magnet so the tech can hang the SC600 series clamp meter to any metallic surface for hands-free testing. Also, the tech can conveniently store the test leads when the job is done with the lead storage solution. Both voltage and amperage readings can be seen at the same time on the big dual LCD display.
