Alarms and stopwatch
Units of measure: microns (µm) of mercury, mmHg, mbar, mTorr, Torr, and Pascals
The SVG3 Digitial Micron Vacuum Gauge is a compact, rugged gauge that is loaded with features HVACR professionals need to help them do more. It includes a large, dual display with a rate indicator, alarms, timer, rugged rubberized case, and a hook at strap that allows the vacuum gauge to be hung at any angle.
The SVG3 contains features to make evacuations easier and faster. The display has a bright backlight for high visibility in any situation. To minimize leaks the SVG3 has a schrader depressor that can connect directly to your core removal tool, or directly to the service port. Fewer connections reduce the potential for leaks unrelated to the system. The rate indicator helps determine if there are any leaks within the system.
When the vacuum reaches the low alarm set point, an audible alarm triggers, the backlight flashes, and the integrated stopwatch restarts to show the technician how long the system has maintained a deep vacuum. You can set both high and low alarms. And the timer can display how long it took to get to the alarm and how long the vacuum has been maintained.

SVG3 - Digital Micron Vacuum Gauge
SVG3 - Digital Micron Vacuum Gauge
The micron gauges will not show any value higher than 9999 microns.
Quick check- connect SVG3 to vacuum pump directly using a ball valve- ball valve is used in case oil gets back from pump and contaminate sensor
The moisture inside the system is still boiling off and is no longer being taken out or compensated for by the vacuum pump.
System will have to come to an equilibrium/ stabilizing.
Connect SVG3 to empty recovery pump and pull down to 500 microns and isolate the pump from recovery tank and microns should rise slowly not immediately /fast rise.
Clean the sensor of the SVG3 with rubbing alcohol. Check manual for details.
The serial number is located on the back of the SVG3 under the strap.
Connect to system. Techs typically prefer connecting to the Schrader Core Removal Tool (SCRT) or an unused service port.
