Fieldpiece’s New Pipe Clamp Thermocouples Offer Easy
Access and Fast, Accurate Readings for Pipe Temperature Measurement

Fieldpiece Instruments announces the introduction of three new thermocouple
pipe clamps. Each has been specially designed to take pipe temperatures easily
and accurately. All three K-type thermocouples will work with instruments
that include a k-type thermometer, including Fieldpiece’s HS30 stick
meter and SC60/70 clamp meters and Fieldpiece’s ATH4 dual temperature
accessory head.
The ATC1 thermocouple accessory is designed with a spring-loaded clamp to
firmly hold the thermocouple junction up against a pipe, typically for suction
line temperature measurements. It features a big jaw opening enabling easy
connection to pipe diameters (OD) of 1 1/4”. The ATC1’s clamp-on
design allows the technician to attach it directly onto the pipe from the
front. For larger pipes, the ATC2, big brother to the ATC1, features a 2 1/4”
large jaw opening. At suggested list prices of $49 and $64.95, the ATC1 and
ATC2 are very low cost. Both feature a patent-pending thermocouple sensor
that is thermally isolated so it measures the temperature quickly and accurately.

The ATC3 has a more sophisticated
design for connecting to a pipe and the thermocouple is even better isolated.
The ATC3 can be connected to a pipe with a diameter up to 1 3/8".
All three pipe clamp thermocouples can greatly facilitate taking a superheat
or subcooling measurement on most residential and commercial refrigeration
appliances or air conditioners. All three pipe clamp thermocouples can be
used with any thermometer, which accepts a K-type thermocouple.
“The new thermocouples were designed with the goal of making the field
service technician’s job easier,” said Ray Harju of Fieldpiece.
“The ATC1 and ATC2 pipe clamp fits in places other units can’t
and the ATC3 makes readings faster than ever.”
The ATC1, ATC2, and ATC3 are available immediately and priced at $49, $64.95,
and $109 respectively. Fieldpiece also offers a wide variety of K-type thermocouples
for field service technicians with an alligator clip design.
