New ACM3SA Stand-Alone Instrument Indicates Changes in Carbon Monoxide Almost Instantly
BREA,
Calif., August 13, 2003-- Fieldpiece
Instruments has introduced a new hand-held carbon monoxide instrument that
is fast, economical, easy-to-use, easy-to-carry, and versatile. Made for HVAC
service technicians, the hand-held digital ACM3SA carbon monoxide instrument
reacts very quickly upon exposure to carbon monoxide and displays CO levels
from 0 to 1000 PPM (parts per million). HVAC technicians concerned with carbon
monoxide levels from furnaces, water heaters, stoves, fireplaces and garages,
particularly in the early winter months, can perform a walk-through test to
detect CO quickly and easily. The ACM3SA also has a MIN/MAX function to record
the highest and lowest readings.
Accuracy is +/- 5% of reading +/- 5 PPM after zeroing, and range is 0 to 1000
PPM (2000 PPM with 5 min maximum exposure time). The ACM3SA begins acting
almost instantly when exposed to CO, making it ideal for a “walk-through”
to determine where CO levels are highest. Operating temperature is 32°F
to 105°F, operating relative humidity is 15 to 90% RH, non-condensing.
The ACM3SA includes an "average" function so the service technician
can easily minimize digit bounce.
Designed for portability and rugged use, the ACM3SA's battery life is estimated
at 200 hours with no measurable current draw when in the “off”
position. Its compact size makes it convenient to carry, and its speed allows
accurate readings during technician “walk- through.” A soft-sided
carrying case with a belt loop is included.
“The ACM3SA is the handiest, most versatile, and most cost-effective
CO meter for finding and fixing carbon monoxide problems,” says Rey
Harju of Fieldpiece Instruments. “Usually a quick walk around the house
will tell you what you need to know. Sometimes you’ll want to record
CO levels. No problem. The ACM3SA can do it all.”
In addition to using the MIN/MAX recording mode, the ACM3SA can be data logged
by separating the top and bottom part of the instrument and putting the top
part, the sensor head, on the optional Fieldpiece DL2 data logger. Then the
technician can see what happens in the middle of the night, when CO exposure
can be the most dangerous.
The ACM3SA carbon monoxide instrument is priced at $189 (trade) and comes
with a soft-sided carrying case. The ACMP3 pump is available to extract a
test sample from hard to reach places for $39 (trade).
