HVAC Guide® software for Windows 7®, Vista®, or XP®

This is the operating software required on your PC to upload test information, customer data, etc. using the Microsoft® Windows 7®, Vista® OS or XP®.

Instructions

1. Click “DOWNLOAD NOW” button.
2. Select “Save to Disk”. Select a folder in which you want to save the file and click “OK”. (Mozilla Firefox users – the file will automatically be downloaded to your desktop.)
3. Double click the file labeled “HVAC_Guide_Software_V2.09_VISTA.exe”.
4. Click “Install”. This will only extract the files, not install the software.
5. Open the folder labeled “HVAC_Guide_Software_V2.09
6. Click on  "autorun.exe" or the "autorun" application file
7. This will launch the installation program. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the HVAC Guide® software. See the instruction manual for the HVAC Guide® system analyzer to use the software.

Downloading a test (i.e. Superheat Test) from the HVAC Guide® to your PC.

Make sure your operating software is working correctly. Follow the instructions below to download a test from your HVAC Guide to your PC.

Instructions

1. With the HVAC Guide® in the off position, plug in the IR2 USB cable into the HVAC Guide®, then plug into a USB port on your PC.
2. Switch the HVAC Guide® to “MEM.”
3. Use the Arrows to scroll to “Com with PC” and press “Enter.”
4. Launch the HVAC Guide Software.
5. For first time users, enter in your technician information and press “Save.”
6. The Data Transfer screen will come up.
7. Press the “Red Right Arrow” to transfer Data to your PC.
8. If the Data Transfer Screen did not automatically come up, press “Com Auto” to find a Com Port and go back to step 7 .

HG1 and HG2 firmware for Windows 7® and Vista®

This is a firmware update for the firmware inside the HVAC Guide®. HG1 owners may download the HG1C2 Firmware update that contains the additional CheckMe!® test for $50. Model HG2 comes standard with the CheckMe!® test. Follow instructions below for all updates.

Instructions

I. Download the firmware.

1. HVAC Guide® Software must be installed before the update will work. See software instructions above to install software.
2. Click “Download Now” below.  Be sure to note where your internet browser is saving the file.
3. Double click the file labeled “HGx Firmware Update_VISTA_HGX_V28.exe”.
4. Click “Install”.  This will only extract the files into a folder, not install the software.
